Published January 21, 2014 @ 12:00 AM
Starting today, all future UIIN events will feature “UIIN Connect”, a newly developed networking tool, designed to enhance your networking experience prior to, during and after UIIN events. The tool allows you to actively manage your conference schedule and to manage the sessions you will attend, and it helps you to easily find participants with similar interests and schedule meetings.

Through the various Horizon2020 and Erasmus+ meetings, the UIIC2014 allows you to obtain the most recent information on the current funding programmes, speak with peers about project ideas and develop potential consortiums. In addition, to optimize your time at the conference, UIIN has developed a networking tool that allows you to actively manage your schedule, organize meetings with people of interest and print a copy of your personal conference agenda.

Abstracts have been reviewed

Published January 03, 2014 @ 6:13 PM
With more than 300 abstracts received, it took the Scientific and Practitioners committee while longer than expected to review all abstracts. However today the acceptance notifications have been sent to a total of 116 abstract authors, unfortunately having to reject more than 200 abstracts for a presentation during the conference. This was, however, not always because of the quality, but rather due to the limited amount of slots available during the conference. The conference will host a wide variety of presentations and presentation styles, from academic to practitioners, to regular presentations, case study discussions, poster presentations and of course keynote sessions.

With Barcelona playing an important role in both industrial as well as educational Spain, and with the focus on entrepreneurship and university-industry interaction by the local higher education institutions, the Scientific Committee has selected Barcelona to be the centre of the 2014 conference.

It is expected that over 300 academics and practitioners from Europe as well as from Africa, Asia, Australia, North and Central America will come together to discuss the main challenges but also and most importantly potential solutions to better drive our economy by successful cooperation of the university and business sector. Aside from keynote speeches, parallel presentations, workshops and open discussion panels, the conference will feature networking sessions allowing university and business to interact.
