Horizon 2020 and Erasmus+ meeting

Learning and networking

Researchers, lecturers and scientists are more dependent than ever on funding from Europe, consequently competition is increasingly cutthroat and today’s organisations at all levels need much broader, diversified skills and expertise to win bids and contracts. Roger Pitfield (Director of Horizon Europa) will introduce the participants to the Horizon 2020 and Erasmus+ programme. His coaching and training programme will support the participants in the identification of the relevant grant and developing the proposal/project to application.

About the workshop facilitator

Roger Pitfield heads Horizon Europa a “Not for profit” organisation that specialises in supporting organisation across all levels of public bodies, education, industries and geographies, to develop the Capacity, Management and Knowledge they need to be consistently successful in the intensely competitive and complex world of European Funding.

Roger has extensive hands-on international experience of managing and developing organisations and teams, delivering results across the EU as well as the Middle East Russia and Africa, advising, growing and directing small and large organisations in Change Management, Capacity building, Staff and Researcher development, Programmes restructuring and System implementation.

Roger is a specialist coach and trainer with a thorough knowledge of the European Union’s funding system and a detailed understanding of the Policies and implementation of various EU actions, schemes and programmes and their inter relations.

The concept of “the omniscient expert” is no longer a valid proposition. The speed of change is increasing, the demands on time to absorb growing amounts of information have become overwhelming and there are increasingly complex demands on resources and skills. With the business and economic realities increasing pressure on these resources, the inevitable result is specialization at the expense of a broader skill set.

However researchers and scientists are more dependent than ever on funding from Europe, consequently competition is increasingly cutthroat and today’s organisations at all levels need much broader, diversified skills and expertise to win bids and contracts.

Horizon Europa provides the complete resource to rebuild or develop the Organisations skills, knowledge and capabilities. Capacity building is fundamentally about growing people and organisations; Horizon Europa design and implement programmes to support their development and capacity building.

Programmes are tailored to each organisation and are an individual blend of Training, Coaching or Mentoring, System design/structures, Professional development and Management.

The end result of implementing these programmes is an organisational core of excellence, knowledge and systems that will support your scientists and researchers through the whole European funding cycle, from the identification of the relevant grant, developing the proposal/project to Application, from project management operational and financial to EU Audits.
